Liza Saad
Liza is an experienced estate and trust litigation lawyer with a proven track record of successfully resolving her clients’ matters both in and out of court. She is a dedicated advocate for her clients in all estate, trust, power of attorney and guardianship disputes. She also guides her clients in navigating the estate administration process, whether as beneficiaries or trustees.
Liza understands the complex and sensitive nature of estate, trust, and capacity issues. This is why she works closely with her clients to hear their stories and understand their goals. With a personalized approach to each case, she aims to resolve matters with practical solutions but does not shy away from litigation where necessary. She ensures her clients understand each step of the process so they can make informed decisions along the way.
Before opening her own firm, Liza practiced at other estate litigation firms where she worked on a wide range of cases with a variety of lawyers. Through this experience, Liza gained in-depth knowledge of estate litigation and to effectively resolve cases. She is driven by serving her client’s best interests.
Liza earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Ottawa where she graduated on the Dean’s Honour List. She also has an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from York University and spent a year studying in France. Outside of her practice, Liza enjoys spending time with her family and friends, travelling, and exploring the city on long walks.

2023 ONSC 1642 – successful in dismissing an application in its entirety for failure to comply with a rule requiring persons acting in a representative capacity to be represented by counsel.
2023 ONSC 3942 – successful in vacating a notice of objection to issuing a certificate of appointment of estate trustee and obtaining full indemnity costs.
2023 ONSC 4764 – seeking the opinion, advice, and direction of the court on various issues, including beneficial interest in real property pursuant to a separation agreement, will interpretation, and assignment of an estate into bankruptcy.
2024 ONSC 818 – successful in removing a lawyer from the record due to a conflict of interest, appointing section 3 counsel, and resisting a motion to transfer the application to another jurisdiction for not being brought in the proper manner and forum.
